x402 Proxy lets you wrap URLs you control or may lawfully monetize with per-request USDC payments on Base. Buyers (typically AI agents) pay per request; your share accrues to a balance we pay out monthly.
x402 Proxy is in beta. Features may change or break, routes may be paused for fixes, and we may suspend, limit, or wind down the service at any time. Please don't put anything business-critical behind the proxy yet.
Where split routing is active (the default), buyer payments are made directly to an immutable on-chain split contract that allocates 85% to your wallet and 15% to us. We never take possession of your share and cannot redirect it. The "pending balance" your dashboard shows reflects funds sitting at your split contract awaiting distribution; distribution is permissionless — we trigger it monthly for balances of $1 or more (gas on us), and you may trigger it yourself at any time. If you delete your account, funds at your split remain yours to distribute — the contract doesn't know or care about your account.
Where split routing is not active (legacy payments, or routes without a payout wallet), you appoint us your limited payment collection agent: buyer payments are made to our wallet on your behalf, and a buyer's payment to us fully satisfies their obligation to you. Such a balance is a bookkeeping record of what we owe you — not a deposit, not insured, earning no interest — held in an operational wallet together with other creators' shares, and paid out monthly for balances of $1 or more, in USDC on Base, to your active payout wallet. On account deletion such a balance of $1 or more is paid in the next payout cycle; balances under $1 are forfeited.
You may only paywall content on a domain you control. Before a route goes live you must prove control of its domain by publishing a DNS record (or file) we specify. We re-check that record periodically and suspend a domain's routes if it disappears. You further affirm you hold the rights to monetize the content you place behind a paywall — verifying a domain proves control of the domain, not ownership of its content, and both are required.
You may not proxy content that is illegal, infringing, deceptive, or that you lack rights to monetize. We may deactivate any route or account at our discretion, including for suspected abuse.
We respond to copyright notices under the DMCA — see our Copyright / DMCA page for how to file a notice or counter-notice. We maintain and enforce a repeat-infringer policy: accounts that accumulate repeated valid copyright notices are terminated and their routes disabled.
All sales are final. Delivery of upstream content is best-effort — we are a proxy and do not control target servers. Payouts run monthly for balances of $1 or more to your self-custody wallet; timing may vary. If the service winds down, we will make a best-effort final settlement of outstanding balances.
Sign-in is by email magic link or wallet signature. An account with no email on file is recoverable only by its wallet: if you lose access to that wallet, you lose the account and any unpaid balance, and nobody — including us — can change its payout address, because payout-address changes require email confirmation. Payouts are sent to the wallet address on file; if you no longer control that address, the funds sent to it are not recoverable by us. While signed in, signing with a different wallet links it to (or is refused by) your current account — it never switches accounts; sign out first to use another account.
You may not use the service if you are subject to sanctions or located in a sanctioned jurisdiction under applicable law (including US OFAC rules). We may refuse, withhold, or reverse payouts to wallet addresses that appear on sanctions lists or that we reasonably associate with fraud or abuse.
The agentic market is still early. We make no promises about traffic, earnings, or availability — earnings are possible, never promised. This is not financial advice.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost business opportunity. Our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is capped at the greater of $100 or the commission we retained from your account in the 12 months before the claim arose.
You are responsible for the content you place behind a paywall. You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your routes, your content, or your breach of these terms — including copyright claims from content you lacked rights to monetize.
Taxes on your earnings are entirely your responsibility.
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes are announced by email where we have one on file and reflected in the "last updated" date above. Continued use after a change is acceptance of it.
