How the wallet, domain verification, and payouts work. Setup takes a few minutes.
Add a payout wallet (any Ethereum-style 0xโฆ address on Base). We derive a personal
on-chain split contract for it โ immutable, hard-coded 85% you / 15% us, powered by
0xSplits on Base. Every agent payment goes straight to that
contract, never through our wallet โ nobody, including us, can redirect it. Monthly, once you've
reached $1, we run the distribution that pushes your USDC to your wallet (gas on us). Distribution is
permissionless: you can verify the split on basescan and trigger it yourself anytime, with or without us.
If you don't have one, Coinbase Wallet or MetaMask take a few minutes to set up. It's self-custody: you hold the keys, we never see or store them and cannot recover them. Keep your recovery phrase safe.
We save it as your active payout wallet and send you a confirmation email. That's it โ you're ready to create routes.
Yes, you can change it anytime from your dashboard. For your security, changing an existing wallet requires confirming a fresh sign-in link from your email โ this stops anyone who briefly accesses your session from redirecting your payouts. You keep only one active wallet at a time (new payouts go there), but we keep the full list of wallets you've used, and past payouts stay correctly recorded against the wallet that received them. Switching never erases your history.
Any wallet change triggers an email alert to you. If it wasn't you, sign in and change it back immediately.
While you're signed in, signing a message with another wallet never switches accounts โ it tries to link that wallet to your current account (and is refused if the account already has one). This is deliberate: silently creating a second identity would strand your earnings across two accounts. To use a different account, sign out first, then sign in with the other wallet.
That works, and it's a legitimate choice โ your email stays out of our database entirely. Understand the trade: the wallet is then your only key to the account. If you lose it, the account is unrecoverable โ and because payout-address changes require email confirmation, a wallet-only account's payout address is permanent. We also can't email you security alerts, paused-domain warnings, or copyright notices. (Your earnings are safer than your account: they sit at your on-chain split, which doesn't need us or your account to pay out.)
Either order ends in the same place. Sign in with email first and connect your wallet after, or sign in with your wallet and link an email later from the dashboard โ the dashboard shows a "link email" box until you do. Linking is confirmed from the email side (we send a click-to-confirm message), it's optional, and it never exposes your wallet address to anyone.
You can only paywall content on a domain you control. Verifying ownership keeps the service honest and legal โ nobody can put your website behind their paywall. You verify a domain once, then create as many routes on it as you like.
Add one TXT record we give you to your domain's DNS. Covers the domain and all
its subdomains. We detect your DNS provider and deep-link you straight to the right settings page, with
copy buttons for each field.
Serve a small text file at /.well-known/x402-proxy-challenge on your site.
Covers that exact host only. Good if you can't edit DNS but can upload a file.
Setup is instant. Add the record, click "Check now," and you're usually verified within a minute. DNS occasionally takes up to an hour to update โ if the first check doesn't pass, the page shows you exactly what we expected versus what we currently see, so you can fix a typo on the spot. There's no waiting period before you can use the service.
Some providers (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, others) append your domain to the record name for you. If so,
enter only _x402-proxy-challenge, not the full _x402-proxy-challenge.yourdomain.com โ
otherwise you get a doubled name that won't resolve. The dashboard flags this for your specific provider.
Yes โ leave it in place. We re-check it periodically. If the record disappears, your routes for that domain are paused (and you're emailed) until it's restored. This is what stops a domain that's been sold from earning for its former owner.
When a domain moves to a new owner, its DNS record and nameservers change. We detect that and pause the routes automatically โ you'll get an email. If you're the one taking over a domain, just verify it fresh under your own account.
You keep 85% of each payment; we take 15%. Balances are paid in USDC on Base, monthly, once you reach $1 โ typically in the first week of the month, though timing can vary.
Any URL on a domain you've verified and have the rights to monetize. You may not paywall content that's illegal, infringing, or that you don't have the rights to. See Terms and our Copyright / DMCA policy.
Check the diff shown on the verification page first (it usually points at a typo). Still stuck? Email [email protected], or use the Send feedback button at the top of any page.
